The Expat Service Desk is the first port of call for international professionals, their families and small and medium-sized companies in the city of Düsseldorf and the County of Mettmann. The service point offers initial information on living and working in the region. It serves as a guide and combines information, details of networks and institutions. The services offered focus on administrative, job-related and organisational topics.
The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (EFRE). The goal is to establish a service point that functions as a first port of call for international professionals as well as small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in the region. The service point guides you to the relevant interface partners such as local government authorities and departments, associations and networks, international schools and expat networks.
So far, the following goals have been achieved in this project: setting up this platform, preparing all the information, establishing collaborations with the relevant offices, creating information material and holding events.
The Expat Service Desk offers initial information and advice on living and working within the city of Düsseldorf and the County of Mettmann to international professionals and their families as well as to small and medium-sized enterprises.
As a platform for all expat-related activities, we have gathered together information, networks and institutions such as government agencies and departments, international schools, expat-networks, international associations and (foreign trade) investment promotion agencies. We support you in dealing with our regional authority partners and ensure that you are well informed and contact the right office for your particular concerns.
The EXPAT SERVICE DESK organises events alone or with partners that are especially tailored to your needs and will make it easier for you to settle into your new environment. Our event calendar gives you a brief overview. We have also gathered events offered by other providers that may interest you.
Advice is free of charge and takes place in English, German and other languages if required.
Advice is provided during the office hours as stated above. An appointment is not necessary.
