The Expat Service Desk ME&DUS

The Expat Service Desk ME&DUS is an official organization attached to the Office of Economic Development of the City of Düsseldorf, the Department of Economic Development of the County of Mettmann and the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

The organization Expat Service Desk serves several target groups, including small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) – and in particular HR departments, international employees, so-called expats, and their families who already work and live in the region Düsseldorf – Mettmann County or plan to do so.

We compile relevant information, put people in touch with networks and authorities, explain the official procedures, refer to the appropriate further organizations and institutions, and ensure that the right contact person is found when dealing with local organizations.

Advice and information are provided in German and English as well as in other languages, if required. Talk to us!

Our goal

Our primary goal is to make it easier for companies based in the City of Düsseldorf and the County of Mettmann to appoint international staff, reduce the employees’ inhibitions when dealing with official organizations and help to break down intercultural and language barriers.
We play a key role in improving the culture of welcoming international professionals / expats, thereby making the region more attractive.
By bundling relevant information, services and offerings, which provide expats / international professionals, their families and companies with a good overview of matters of relevance to them, we simplify procedures. We promote networking among different institutions and associations, active in the expat segment.
