Project partners

The Expat Service Desk ME&DUS was founded by three official project partners as a modern point of contact and a new kind of platform based in Düsseldorf. It is specifically designed to meet the needs of small to medium-sized enterprises as well as of international professionals / expats and their families in the region Düsseldorf – County of Mettmann.

Since 2017, the Expat Service Desk has had successful backing at intercommunity level from the Office for Economic Development of the City of Düsseldorf, the Department of Economic Development of the County of Mettmann and Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK)

The IHK Düsseldorf represents the interests of around 93,000 member companies operating in the industrial, retail and service sectors within the City of Düsseldorf and the ten cities within the County of Mettmann. The area covered by the IHK is now one of Germany’s strongest economic regions in Germany.
Its goal is to create better conditions for business. The IHK Düsseldorf is a public corporation and a service organisation that represents the interests of companies within the area it covers.

It offers its member companies a wide range of services and holds a number of events. It advises on matters concerning trade, corporate, commercial, tax, labour and competition law. Start-ups, for example, are offered a complete information service in the form of personal advice and seminars. The IHK Düsseldorf is also a central organisation responsible for education and training. In addition, the IHK Düsseldorf is on hand as a service partner to support national and international companies throughout every phase of their foreign business, from taking the first steps in a foreign market and setting up production to dealing with legal matters involving exports and imports as well as export control.

The IHK Düsseldorf is one of three Expat Service Desk project partners. Its office is located in the IHK building at Ernst-Schneider-Platz 1 in Düsseldorf.
